Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some questions I get asked quite frequently by perspective clients, click on a question below to display the answer

What is the best way to contact you?

For general or quote enquiries, the best way to contact me is either by filling out the contact form or by emailing us at contact@ashercharles.com. If you are using the contact form please give as much detail about your project as possible so I can create a more accurate proposal.

For your convenience, you may also contact us through the menu bar on the side. Please note, however, that it takes me longer to respond to phone enquiries, than enquiries made via email or through my web site.

How quickly will you get back to me?

To ensure my quickest response time, I ask that you contact me via email or through my contact form.

Typical response time for electronic messages like these are usually by the same or next business day. Response time for phone messages can sometimes take as long as 2-3 business days, as I need time to schedule the call.

How soon can you get started on my project?

I typically book projects 3-6 weeks in advance. You’ll want to keep this in mind for planning purposes so that I can get your project scheduled as soon as possible.

The process generally starts out with an inquiry through my contact form after which I put together a detailed proposal for you with several options to choose from. Once you receive the proposal, we can discuss it further in order to address any questions you may have, and to decide on the best plan of action for your site.

After deciding that we are the right fit for eachother, a signed contract and 50% deposit secures your spot on my development schedule.

How long will it take to finish my web site?

There’s no exact answer to this, as the time will vary based on the complexity of the project, how quickly you respond to requests for feedback, as well as how large your web site is.

For the most part, however, most web sites are completed within 4-6 weeks.

How much does a web site cost?

There isn’t a quick answer to this question, as there are so many variables involved…

For example – Do you need a static HTML web site, or a CMS (Content Management System) such as WordPress? Do you just need a custom WordPress theme, or do you need me to develop all of the interior pages, as well? Is this a 5 page site or a 50 page site?

There are too many unknowns without first having all of the details for your project.

Where can I view my web site in progress?

Once the preliminary design for your web site is complete, I will give you access to login to my Client Preview. Here you will be able to view the preliminary designs, offer feedback for revisions, give approval to begin development, etc.

Once I have your approval on the completed web site, as well as receive payment on the final balance, I move the web site from our client area to your web server – making the site “live” and viewable to the public.

Will my site work in different web browsers?

Yes! Although I do all my coding in  Mozilla Firefox for it’s strong support of web standards, I  do test and make sure  your web site looks the same in the latest versions of the most popular web browsers for cross-browser compatibility.

Please note that I only focus on the current web browser versions. When it comes to Internet Explorer, I test with IE7 and IE8. Due to it’s lack of security features, and lack of compliance with current web standards, I do not support support for IE6. I can optimise your site for IE6 at an extra cost if it is required.

What is HTML and CSS?

This is the coding language that I use to create your website, I take pride in creating the most up to date and standard compliant code to future proof your website for years to come. I can guarantee that my code is all done by hand and not generated by a program automatically.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept payments made with Visa, Master Card, American Express PayPal (PayPal account not required). I also accept personal / business checks.

A signed contract and 50% deposit secure your start date on my schedule. Final balance is due upon completion of the project, before transfer of files to your web server.

Have a question not listed here?

If so, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly. I am always more than happy to answer your questions, and look forward to hearing from you and finding out more about how I can help you with your next project.
